Our Ideal Client

We offer mental health therapy for individuals, children, teens, families, couples and relationships of all kinds. We also offer supplemental services such as medication management, case management, and peer support. We can help you bring those pieces together. Whether you're in a rural community, small town, or big city, we offer affirming, accessible therapy that meets you where you are, by telehealth or in person at our Portland offices in North Tabor and St. John's.

Our Background and Approach

Sprout Therapy PDX is a group mental health practice founded in 2018 and serving Oregon ever since. We provide compassionate, individualized therapy for kids (5+), teens, adults, couples, families, and relationships of any kind, with a team of warm, authentic, and highly trained clinicians who reflect the values and lived experiences of the communities we serve. We are LGBTQ+ affirming, anti-racist, and committed to making quality mental health care accessible to those who need it most. We accept Oregon Health Plan, Medicare, and most major commercial insurance plans, and offer in-person sessions at our two Portland locations in North Tabor and St. Johns, as well as telehealth across Oregon. First Place, Best Therapist, Willamette Week Best of Portland Readers' Poll, 2025 and 2026. Best Places to Work, Portland Business Journal, 2024.

More About the People We Treat

We work with young adults, kids, teens, families, and couples of any kind. Our team works with trauma, anxiety, depression, and many other treatment issues. We are an LGBTQIA+ allied practice and identify as progressive and anti-racist. We're proud to serve the LGBTQ community and to provide culturally respectful care for all.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) External link

We specialize in supporting clients with depression, whether it's situational, persistent, or associated with other mental health conditions. Drawing from a variety of therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness techniques, we collaborate with you to navigate through the complexities of depression to effectively manage and alleviate the symptoms of depression, fostering a path towards greater emotional well-being & resilience.

  • Humanistic  External link

We believe the relationship between clinician and client is the groundwork that leads to effective therapy. Creating a solid connection and mutual respect allows deep work to occur in the therapy room.

  • Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) External link

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy works strategically to help you identify your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and how they all interact to create your internal world. We may use CBT in tandem with exposure and response prevention (ERP) for folks dealing with symptoms related to OCD, panic, PTSD, or anxiety.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Family Conflict External link

We are trained to consider presenting issues from a contextual family systems lens and are always considering complex intergenerational trauma and other family dynamics in our work with all clients- whether you come to therapy with your family or as an individual.

  • LGBTQ Issues External link

Many clinicians at our practice identify on the LGBTQIA+ spectrum, and all of us at Sprout have experience working with queer folks. We all consider ourselves lifelong allies to our LGBTQIA+ community.

  • Relationship / Marriage Issues External link

Our team loves working with couples and relationships of all kinds! We have expertise working with open, poly, or ethically non-monogamous individuals, couples, and polycules.

  • Anxiety External link

Anxiety is one of our greatest afflictions as a society. We frequently work with clients with anxiety disorders of all kinds, including panic, OCD, and PTSD. We use many approaches to treat anxiety, but pull from cognitive behavioral therapy approaches, mindfulness, and exposure and response prevention (ERP) to help you learn skills to manage these intensely uncomfortable experiences.

  • Depression External link

The low lows of depression are not fun. We aim to stand beside you as you cope with depression and help you get back on your feet again, using interventions from CBT and DBT.
